The Roman Ampitheatre - or should it be Roman Colisseum? This is outside Newgate on the south-east of the walled town. Note social areas were always outside of the fortified garrison. Evidence suggests this is not just an ampitheatre and that more of the structure is buried under the old school behind the wall on the right.
The Governor's House. This is outside Newgate on the south-east of the walled town next to the site of the SE angle tower.

History of Cheshire.
The Roman baths and Roman gardens. Chester was founded by the Romans in about 60 AD as a strategic site for a garrison of occupying troops. It was a Roman harbour and an important base for the conquest of Wales. The Romans called the settlement Deva which was changed to the Saxon 'Caestre' (camp) after they left.
